Parka jacket - a winter pair for every man
Men's parka is a garment that works especially well during winter. It is even created for frosty weather! Equipped with a lining of artificial sheepskin from the inside (sometimes in the form of a detachable lining), effectively protects against frost.
Where did the parka come from?
Its prototype is the M-1951 jacket. It was sewn especially for the American army, which conducted military operations in harsh winter conditions. The inspiration was reportedly the anoraks in which the Eskimos went.
The top of the M-1951 jacket was made of thick cotton canvas. Underneath was woolen insulation. After the war, the parka jacket - the winter companion of the pilots - came from the battlefield to the American and finally European streets. Men fell in love with it mainly because of its functionality and convenience.
Today, men of all ages and in every part of the world walk in the parks. The most common men's parka is the one in khaki. However, you can also find winter jackets in other colors, e.g. black, graphite, burgundy, gray or navy blue, and even camo. Together with warm trappers, a hat, a scarf and a thick sweater, they are a set in which you won't even be afraid of harsh winter.
Men's parka jacket - how will you recognize it?
The parka has a very characteristic cut in casual men's fashion. You will recognize it by the large hood with fur trim, synthetic filling and drawstring at waist height. Men's winter zipped parkas are longer than classic down jackets - they usually reach below the buttocks. Their back is often longer and bevelled in the shape of an inverted triangle with a small cut at the end and strings on both sides. The parka is made of durable materials, usually cotton or a mixture of cotton and artificial materials, so it will serve you for several seasons.
Although the jacket is associated with winter clothing, you will also find models designed for warmer weather. The spring parka jacket is a minimalist, lightweight, non-insulated jacket that protects against wind and light rain.
What to wear a park jacket with?
A padded men's parka jacket is a universal cut that suits men of different silhouettes. It is not tight, so even those gentlemen who cannot boast of the so-called on the stomach. In turn, slim men with more modest muscles in such clothes will seem more muscular, with a larger chest and shoulders.
The parka jacket - spring and winter - fits perfectly into the urban, casual style. You can combine it with a comfortable sweatshirt or cardigan. Wear a cotton shirt underneath. Complementing this stylization can be dark chinos and sports shoes or boots. Always a hit set is a parka in combination with graphite or black joggers and camel trappers in combination with a v-neck sweater or u-neck sweatshirt. The parka looks good also with different patterns, e.g. grille, stripes or camo.
The most popular khaki parka goes well with blue, beige, mustard and brown. A combination with joggers or baggy khaki or other, but still very close to each other, shade of green is not a good idea - this set resembles a uniform of a ranger or forest guard. Well, unless you care about such an effect... ;)
